Many of the housekeeping enzymes in cells, such as RNA and DNA polymerases, require magnesium for activity. It does not surprise me to hear that fluoride ingested in pregnant women causes a decrease in the IQ of their child. The notion of using fluoride in drinking water to reduce dental caries is completely absurb. When you drink a glass of flouridated water, what percentage of the ingested flouride gets absorbed by the teeth? Probably 0.00000001%. What percentage of the ingested flouride gets deposited in your body tissues (liver, heart, brain, bones, kidneys, etc)? Probably 99.9999999%. This is why Europe does not flouridate their water. But when you raise this issue of flouridation in the USA, proponents are like religious zealots. They refuse to listen to common sense, to the known biochemical effects, and now to the known deleterious effects on the body (tooth flourosis, lowered IQ, damage to thyroid tissue, damage to other tissues). Flouride is a well known toxin. Flouride can put you in the hospital if you ingest large quantities. If the justification for flouridation is to reduce dental caries in children, then you are forcing adults to ingest flouride toxin. I would much prefer that the children in this country have more dental cavities with a higher IQ, rather than less cavities and a lower IQ. Cavities can be filled by a dentist in 20 minutes. Lower IQ is a lifetime disability."

Fluoride is not an essential nutrient Vitamin or Mineral, is highly corrosive and Toxic and begs the questions of: Why do my plants/yard need Fluoride? Why do I need to Cook my food like pasta or vegetables in Water with it? Why should a person Shower in Fluoridated water?
